So Many Firsts #WickedWednesday

Welcome to Wicked Wednesday! This week’s prompt is “First” and what comes to mind when we see that word. What firsts are the most prevalent on our mind?

He’s the first man who made me feel safe for more than a few minutes. He’s the first man who didn’t run at the first sign of difficulty. He’s the first man who lets me in completely, even when his life is stressful and difficult. He’s the first man to trust me to be strong enough to handle whatever life brings both of us.

He’s the first man who gives without expectation of return. He’s the first man who truly appreciates what he is given. He’s the first man who’s ever inspired me to give more. He’s the first man who’s ever been made truly happy by what I offer.

He’s the first man who’s ever accepted my wild, feral side. He’s the first man to allow me to mark him as my own. He’s the first man who wasn’t afraid of nails digging in flesh or teeth scraping skin. He’s the first man to relish and welcome my dark side as much as the light.

He’s the first man who brought me to tears with pure love. He’s the first man who inspired me to be all that I am. He’s the first man I wished was the father of my children.

I’m not brave enough to think about forever, but he’s the first man to make me consider the possibility.

Post-script: He’s also the first man I’ve ever been in a relationship with who replaced the empty toilet paper roll in the bathroom.
