What It Means to Have Kinky Patrons

I’ve been on Patreon, shamelessly begging for support and love in the form of cash, for several weeks, and I thought it would be a good idea to give everyone an update. Sort of a State of the Kinky Union.

I’ve already talked about my work as a writer in the month of March. Regardless of the money earned, I think it’s important to open up the vault a little and show the dark, secret business side. Mostly because no one else talks about it that much.

To give you an update on what I’m doing with and because of Patreon is a responsibility I feel like I have simply because I’m asking for people (not John Brownstone) to help me make my plans a reality and my dreams come true.

What Your Kinky Support Means to Me

Well, shocking (to me), I have four supporters. They are supporting my work anywhere from $1 up to $25 per month. And if I could give them all real squishy boob hugs, I would. Because really, when I’m paid simply for the belief in what I’m doing, and to show the value of what I’ve already done, I have only one reaction:

I do a squeal, a happy dance, a butt wiggle, and then I remember to tell John Brownstone. In that order. Every. Single. Time. And yes, it happens whether the support is $1 or $25. I hope I never take anyone’s support for granted. I hope that no matter how long I do this, every penny that comes my way causes the same goofy, happy reaction. Hell, it still happens whenever I sell a book.

What I’ve Done With Your Kinky Support

I have to say, knowing that I’ve promised people to update them with my progress, record video of me talking about kink or life or writing or whatever ($10 and up levels), and send out new books has kept me on track. I’m accountable to those people because they’ve chosen to support me knowing they’ll receive something in return.

Since I started Patreon and gained supporters, here’s what I’ve done:

  • Recorded two videos (the third will be available soon) discussing kink and life. Yes, that’s my make-up-less face in the video. Yes, I’m shedding some of my anonymity. Willingly.
  • Purchased the artwork and cover art for my latest release, Kinky Love Notes (available on April 14!).
  • Paid for the web program to format Kinky Love Notes (PressBooks is ah-may-zing, y’all) which made my life easier and the process SO much faster.
  • Signed up for CreateSpace so the rest of my releases will also be available in paperback. Just wait until you see what I do with all of the Sir and Babygirl stories, OMG!

And that’s just with four supporters! Can you imagine what I’ll do as my kinky support grows?

What I Want to Do With My Kinky Support

I’m nothing if not a girl with a million and one plans. As support grows (and I realize that Patreon is not for everyone, and you can still really enjoy what I do and never pay a dime. You are loved and adored by me no matter what!), I have a few things I want to do next:

  • Buy a new website theme and update the look and feel of the website. I want more features and I want it to be easier to read.
  • Upgrade the podcast equipment. Right now, it’s recorded on an old laptop with no other equipment. If it ever sounds glitchy, that’s why.
  • I’ve got plans to put together a few online courses for marketing. (I’d do a BDSM one, but I’m not sure there’s enough interest in something like that). The programs that work best ain’t cheap.

When you choose to support my work on Patreon, I strive to be a good steward of what I think of as your investment. I become accountable to my patrons, doing what I say I will, when I’m supposed to. I work a little harder. Try something new. And keep producing the best kinky fuckery I can. Knowing that I’m accountable to those people makes me want to produce more work, faster and better than ever.

So, now the question remains…

Will you be my kinky patron? Check me out on Patreon!
