New Year’s Goals #WickedWednesday

Welcome to Wicked Wednesday! This week’s prompt is, you guessed it, all about the New Year.

I don’t have anything sexy on my mind to write – I think I’m in a slump.

I don’t really have the desire to look back – not right now, at least. I’ve come a long way in the past year, but I’d much rather look forward to the future.

I don’t do the resolution thing. My resolve isn’t based on a calendar. And if I wasn’t willing to do something on December 31, what is so special about January 1 that I can only choose to change that day?

New Year New Me Bullshit

I do set goals for myself, but that’s an ongoing thing. I always have goals that I’m working towards, but I guess the New Year is as good a time to share them as any…

The Kayla Lords website will be changing soon. The blog will still be the blog – sexy stories, BDSM and D/s insights, and whatever else that comes to mind. (To the three or four people who enjoy the haikus – don’t worry, they’re here to stay.) But the look will change. I’m looking into allowing advertising, as well.

I will start a podcast that will include interviews with sex bloggers and erotic authors, conversations between Daddy and I about our D/s relationship, and whatever else we can think of that makes sense for us and an audience.

I will publish at least two more books – the current Madame Gretchen book that I’m working on, and another Sir and Babygirl book.  Thanks to an idea from a reader, I’ll focus on the meeting and mingling of them and their family which should offer plenty of angst and drama, lol.

I’ll find more opportunities to write in the sex community – guest posts, regular contributions, you name it.

John Brownstone and I are working on an idea for him – as soon as he’s ready to talk about it, so will I.

Those are business and professional goals. What about the personal goals?

Daddy and I are committed to losing the post-moving-in-together weight we seemed to have gained.

I have no doubt we’ll work on taking our relationship to new and better levels.

I’m going to keep doing my best to raise little boys into good men – thankfully, I have help now.

Not very kinky, not very sexy, but it’s real. At the end of the day, that’s all I care about – being real.

What are your plans for the New Year? Hmmmm? Do tell.

  • You seem to have everything in perfect order. I look forward to watching you achieve those goals, cuz you will, of that I’m sure. Happy and a healthy know year to you and your beautiful family.

  • Hi Kayla

Love your idea of if you weren’t prepared to do something before why suddenly change on 1st January!! My goal this year is to lose weight – unfortunately I put a lot on when I left my last Dom. Also need to clear out a lot of rubbish as there is a possibility I will be moving this year. Am hoping 2015 will be the year I meet a Dom for a long term relationship like you and Southern Sir and Word Wytch and Wolf. I am forever hopeful. My best wishes for you and Southern Sir for 2015 and know that your relationship will go from strength to strength. xxx

    • Awww, thank you! The meeting the right person part, unfortunately, happens on the Universe’s schedule, not our own, but I hope 2015 is an excellent year for you!

  • You and I have a lot of shared idea’s! I don’t do resolutions either. Lose weight, yeup…that’s for sure on my list, and the resolve to actually do it has begun well in advance of the new year. I think it will help me be healthier. Job one is to get rid of this lingering illness that has kept me in “slow” mode for 3 weeks –and is a direct result of not taking better care of myself when I had the flu 6 weeks ago.

I’m hoping for more time with M in the upcoming year…last year we had but two little playdates. Lots of face time, (never enough though!) but not much playtime.

And looking backwards keeps you from seeing the good that is right in front of you. Good for you for seeing that! Living in the now is hard enough without looking back. For every bad brick on the road behind us is part of what brought us to where we are now. We can only move forward, so I’m hoping that we all do so in a fun, sane, exciting way!

    Blessings for 2015 and beyond…

    • I want you to be healthier and happier with a lot more playtime as well!

I agree about those bricks. I tell people all the time that I wouldn’t be the person I am today without everything that came before…good and bad. 🙂

  • I love your goals for the new year, and I also love that you don’t have new year’s resolutions. Neither do I, but I do have my goals set for the new year.

I am curious to see the new look of your site!

    Happy New Year!

    • Thank you! I’m on pins and needles waiting for the new site to happen…thanks to the technical problems we’ve had with computers over the past several weeks, it’s been delayed big time.

  • You’ve been a bit influence in the way that I look at writing. You’ve helped me. Thank you for that. Good luck in 2015!

  • Happy New Year! You have so much to look forward to and I look forward to reading all about your progress. Dates mean nothing, but everyone needs a day to begin. It’s the preparation before the start date that matters.

    • Happy New Year to you, too! I agree. I set the beginning of the year as the time to start but I’ve been working (mentally and physically) on things well before now. 🙂
