Sex Writing

Changing Things Up

I’ve been a busy bee this afternoon. I’ve revamped my blog – if you’re checking this via email or from the mobile WordPress, you might not see it, but no, really, it’s a pretty big change.

I’m setting processes in place so I can focus on my writing and connect to the widest audience possible.

I wish I was a free spirit who just sits down to write and create with a bevy of mice and birds to do the heavy-lifting for me. But I’m not that woman. I’m a processes and lists girl. I’m a scheduling and planning girl. And I’m busy as hell, as most of us are, so I have figure out what I’m going to do before I start doing it. I don’t have time to spin my wheels for weeks getting no where.

I don’t want to neglect this blog while I write, so I’m trying to create a schedule: Masturbation Monday and Wicked Wednesday are definitely happening. Someone told me about FFF – which I believe has something to do with Friday’s and fiction. Anyone with more information, let me know at kaylalords(at)gmail(dot)com. No worries, though, this is also free therapy, and I’m sure I’ll blog about my angst from time to time, too. Not as much fun as my fantasy posts, but I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t emote everywhere.

I’m considering joining Twitter as Kayla. I have a Twitter account for my vanilla world, but I barely do anything with it. Feel free to share your opinion on that, too.

I am on Google+ if you’re there.

I’ve joined The Spanking Bloggers and SexPress – any other suggestions?

All of the Sir and babygirl posts are ideas that I’m going to bring to fruition in the future. Plus, I’m working on exploring my submissiveness in a less emotional, teary way and more of a this-is-who-I-am-and-its-ok way.

So basically, I’m workin’ on it…slowly but surely.

  • As usual, I’m viewing through my phone and can’t see anything, but I will go look.

I applaud you for making writing a priority. I think, if you are headed towards the goal of publishing, that yes, you do need to Tweet and do Facebook. The nice thing about Facebook is you can set your tweets to appear there as status updates – a twofer. A writer I follow was told by an agent that it is pretty much a requisite nowadays that an author needs to have a following before a publisher will even consider looking at their manuscript.

You go, girl! I am behind you 100%.

Suggestion – maybe join a serious online writers review group, where writers post their work in progress and ask for serious critique. Hard to do, I know, but you and I both know how hypercritically high our standards can be. It’s worth having some objective eyes on what you’re doing. Keeps you out of analysis paralysis. Your blog and other social media fans may not be able to give you that.

Love and hugs and best of luck.

    • Thank you, darling woman.

I won’t link Twitter and Facebook but because as someone who uses both professionally, I consider the two to have different audiences and voices. Twitter is a quick, on-going conversation. Facebook is, well, Facebook – it’s almost a mini-blog, scrapbook kind of thing. But yes, I am slowly being convinced to get on Twitter. I just have to put the mechanisms in place to keep the vanilla and the not-so-vanilla accounts separate.

I’ll look into the online writers review groups and see what’s out there.

      ((HUGS)) Love you, too!!

      • Keeping vanilla and kinky separate is hard workd and a big deal. “… never the twain shall meet.”

You are way more savvy about these social media things than most people. You will do well whichever way you choose to go. As long as you devote enought time to actual writing (and not tweeting and posting), I think success is just out there calling your name.

        • I know, right? It’s too easy to get caught up in all the ancillary stuff. I just want to write, damn it! But…I’ve got to get everything put into place so I’m not focusing on the smaller stuff. I’m getting there. 🙂

And thank you. I hope so…I’m willing to put in the effort so maybe something will come of it all.

  • Love what you’ve done with the place! Find what works for you and your schedule. I hear ya on being busy, emotions, having a life outside of blogs and trying to sit down to tap it all out!
As far as Twitter, I have a twitter for my blog. But, not for my personal self. It is another way to network and get yourself out there. 😉

  • I really like your emotional and teary exploration of your submissiveness. It’s way honest and that is what really strokes a chord. Of course it’s who you are and that’s okay, but it’s refreshing to acknowledge the deep emotions behind why you are who you are. The domination and submission games have a deep emotional landscape behind them, and that is just as interesting if not more to some of us than the games themselves.
